Great Greenman at Stirling...is that your photograph? I should not be surprised at GreenMen in Scotland, although I usually think of them more in England.
ReplyDeleteI wish it were mine, but unfortunately I've never been there. Actually, Scotland may have had more Greenmen than England, but the Presbyterians were a lot more destructive than the Anglicans. Don't have an exact figure, but I'd guess at least 80% of the medieval sculpture in Scotland was annihilated.
